RSV Köln

Under the timeless motto of Cologne’s rugby community, “Tough, but warm-hearted,” over 1,000 players from all parts of the world have donned the RSV Köln’s iconic maroon, white, and black rugby jersey. Believe it or not, even the pop star Howard Carpendale took to the rugby field in the traditional RSV jersey (then ASV) in the early 1970s. Over the years, the initially small rugby community in Cologne has steadily grown and now boasts three men’s teams, a women’s team competing in both 15-a-side and 7-a-side rugby, a youth and junior section, and the Mini Pänz. Not to be forgotten are the senior women and men who continue to enjoy and share their love for the sport as part of the Ahl Säck and Ahl Föttcher teams.

RSV Köln has consistently produced players who represent the NRW state selection and even the German national teams in 15-a-side rugby, 7-a-side rugby, and Rugby League.
